If you are interested in the calories in an egg because you are counting calories then you will no doubt be very aware of the fact that there are some calories that are completely nutritionally useless to you and your health. The calories come from what is called simple sugars as opposed to complex sugars which is something described by dietitians as the Glycemic Index (GI). If you are looking for foods that have calories that count and add or benefit your body such as foods with a low GI count then you need to seriously consider eggs. You can eat a boiled egg which will give you all the necessary you need to survive and it will only be 54 calories which is something that any person on any calorie restricted diet needs to seriously consider because of the return you are getting. It goes without say that the way that you prepare your egg is going to add a lot of calories if you are not aware of the addition of calories when frying for example.
